Autonomous robotic strawberry harvesting

Supported : 1,020 €

of 250 € minimum goal

BerryBot offers strawberry growers AI powered autonomous robotic harvesting that enables security around the work without farmers making any upfront investments. The FaaS (Farming as a Service) model makes deployment easy, affordable and enables further productivity increase.

There is labour shortage in strawberry harvesting in Estonia and elsewhere globally. Career aspirations of the younger generations are generally not to become farm workers. Global pandemic movement restrictions have further deepened the labour crisis as migrant workers were unavailable in summer 2020.

Autonomous harvesting comes as a response to the seasonal labour shortage. The cost of industrial robotics is too high, hence low-cost technological solutions are sought. Therefore, we have identified ways to bring down the cost of robot building significantly and offer as FaaS to strawberry growers.
